On July 19, O-Town brought their “Pop 2000” Tour to the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts on Long Island.
They were joined by such diverse pop music acts as singer-songwriter Ryan Cabrera, British pop group BBMak, pop and hip hop band LFO, as well as Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC, who emceed the event.
O-Town kicked off their set with their Top 10 hit single “Liquid Dreams,” which was incorporated as a medley with Fifth Harmony’s “Worth It.”
They immediately broke into “Chasin’ After You,” “We Fit Together,” as well as a mash-up of such tunes as The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down,” Shawn Mendes’ “Treat You Better,” and Get Ur Freak On” by Missy Elliott.
Brad Fischetti of LFO joined them for “West Side Story,” “Every Other Time,” as well as their Billboard Top 10 hits “Girl on TV” and “Summer Girls.”
O-Town went on to perform their single “These Are the Days,” and “After the Lights.”
One of the fan favorite portions of the show was when host Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC joined them on stage for such NSYNC standards as “Bye Bye Bye,” “It’s Gonna Be Me,” “Tearin’ Up My Heart” and “Pop.” The audience recited the NSYNC lyrics verbatim, and O-Town’s harmonies blended so well together.
O-Town closed their set with their signature ballad “All or Nothing,” and it’s crazy to think that this song is over 21 years old now.
The Verdict
Overall, there was a lot of variety at the “Pop 2000” Tour stop at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts.
There was a feeling of ’00s nostalgia in the venue, where every musical act on this tour brought something different and unique to the stage (during each mini-concert performance). It is worth checking out.
