Musician and tennis instructor Eric Sage teaches actor Tyler Johnson how to play “Tennis Like a Rockstar.”

The “Tennis Like a Rockstar” episodes go live each Saturday on the Tennis Channel.

Actor Tyler Johnson is known for his acting work in the CBS daytime drama “The Young and The Restless,” as well as for his starring role in the film “My Favorite Girlfriend.”

This marked Sage’s second installment of “Tennis Like a Rockstar,” and the main focus was topspin. “It’s all about dropping the head (of the tennis racket), relaxing the wrist, and how much you are going to come up,” Sage suggested. “The racket is never going to go forward,” Sage noted in his instructions.

Sage’s motto is: “you don’t just play tennis, you play tennis like a rockstar.” Sage was a former professional tennis player who, at age 23, lost his lifelong sports dream in an automobile accident. He then became a tennis instructor for the stars.

“Eric Sage smashing four hands by day crafting rock ballads by night,” Johnson said, complimenting his tennis instructor Eric Sage.

Anybody who has a passion or an interest in tennis can learn something informative from Eric Sage. It is evident that Sage did a good job with Tyler Johnson as he showed him how to maneuver, hone, and navigate some new skills on the tennis court.
