College Football Preview: Top freshmen every fan needs to know

Josh Rosen is probably the freshman with the most to prove in the coming weeks as the UCLA football team will likely have the young man as their starting quarterback. Despite his age and inexperience, the 18-year-old looks like the top choice for head coach Jim Mora and with the pressure of playing in the Pac-12, how the youngster handles himself over the first couple of games, should give fans of the Bruins a good idea of what to expect over the course of the season.

Nick Saban is looking to win another championship and wide receiver Calvin Ridley could have a big impact in helping reach that goal. The young wide out has already had comparisons to Amari Cooper and Marqis Lee from offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin and with several young players holding down key roles with the Crimson Tide, a breakout performance from Ridley could help the team through a tough SEC schedule and possibly into the college football playoffs at years end.

Florida State is looking to fill more than just the shoes of quarterback Jameis Winston in the 2015 college football season. The team also lost one of the top wide receivers in school history with Rashad Greene now taking his game to the professional level, but that just opens the door for several talented freshmen.

George Campbell is looking to take advantage of his early enrollment and earn the starting nod for the Seminoles and if he continues to show the progress he made during the spring, fans of the school could get an early look at the next big name to play wide out for Florida State.
