Jackson Harris talks new single ‘Dance with the Devil,’ Lady Gaga (Includes interview)

Regarding his new single, “Dance with the Devil,” he said, “I started writing the lyrics like a journal entry, describing how I was feeling at the moment. I brought the idea over to my friends, The Eleven , who are an incredible trio of talented guys. We started to add some chords together and slowly built ‘Dance With The Devil’ into a really special song.”

Throughout his career, Harris has toured with such artists as Cody Simpson and Jacob Whitesides. “Cody is an incredible musician and a great friend. We have now done two tours together so whenever we get to travel or work together it feels like a big vacation. Then getting the chance to open up for Jacob was an amazing opportunity. He has an awesome connection with his fans and is writing some really great songs,” Harris said.

Harris’ plans for 2016 include releasing more new music and more touring in the United States and other parts of the world. “I would love to go back to Europe this summer to play a few shows! My New Year’s resolution is to try to be happy and work harder towards my dreams,” he said.

He revealed that Musicians on Call is his favorite charity. “I get the chance to meet some amazing people who sadly are battling some really difficult health problems. They are an inspiration to me and I am so thankful that I get to play music for them in hospitals around the country. Music has such a strong effect on people and to be able to make someone forget their worries even for a few minutes is the best thing about being a musician and artist,” he explained.

Harris continued, “Music is my life and my escape from my worries. I always go to music when I am feeling sad, or hurt, or sick, and it always makes me feel better. So for me to be able to help someone forget about their problems for a few moments is such a gift. Music can heal people.”

He listed Halsey and Lady Gaga as his dream female duet choices. “I would love to work with Halsey because she is such a crazy awesome inspiring artist. I love her sound and her voice and her album is one of my favorite new discoveries,” he said. “And I would love to work with Lady Gaga! She is the smartest, craziest, most talented woman in music right now. She takes such risks and does things that no one else would ever think of doing and she makes it look easy. She is a true artist and I would be honored to work with her in any capacity.”
