New York Times bestselling author and acclaimed actress Danica McKellar sat down and chatted about her new children’s math book “Double Puppy Trouble.”

She is proud of her multi-movie deal with GAC Family. “What I love about it is that I also get to be a producer and I am really hands-on in each project,” she said. “It has been really fun to help develop these movies.”

McKellar was thrilled to emcee the National Inventors Hall of Fame Awards. “This was the second year that I’ve done it,” she said. “It was a wonderful event honoring the people that have changed the course of our lives, and that’s something we don’t think about because we take inventions for granted.”

“We take for granted every technology that we are using but somebody had to invent those devices. It is really fun to have an event where we honor those people,” she added.

‘Double Puppy Trouble’

On July 26, she will be releasing “Double Puppy Trouble,” which was illustrated by Josée Masse. “This is book No. 11,” she admitted. “I am really proud of it, it’s a fun story and book. It tells the story of a girl who discovers a magical stick that doubles things. When she points it at her puppy, the button gets stuck so the puppies keep doubling and doubling,” she explained.

“It’s a really fun story of puppy chaos. It sneaks in a math lesson on the power of doubling. People don’t realize how quickly the numbers get big,” she added.

If she were to have any superpower, she revealed that it would be “to make everybody feel loved.” “I feel like a lot of problems could be solved that way,” she acknowledged.

On being a part of RomaDrama Live! in West Palm Beach, Florida, McKellar said, “It’s so great. What a great group of people. The actors and the fans are all so positive.”

She shared the greatest lesson that the acting profession has ever taught her. “The power of vulnerability,” she said.

Regarding the title of the current chapter of her life, she said with a sweet laugh, “Great American Country.”

McKellar noted that she is doing an autograph promotion for the people who pre-order her book. They can pre-order the book now through July 26 to get a free autograph by visiting the McKellar Math homepage.
