Custom gold-backed, diamond-adorned iPhone 6 costs $3.5 million

The Apple logo on the rear of the device can be coated with Swarovski crystals and the phones will be shipped in a cherry-oak box designed to emphasise the premium finish on the device.
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple’s latest devices launched towards the end of last year, are both offered by Goldgenie in their 16GB, 64GB or 128GB variants. The phone is offered in white or black before the rear is coated in 24-carat gold, rose gold or platinum.
A “Limited Edition Gulf Elite” variant offered in Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE will enable residents of those nations to have the Coat of Arms of their country engraved onto the back of the phone. Only 99 of each of these editions will be produced, adding yet another element of uniqueness to an already extraordinary phone.
Alternatively, you can just have your name engraved as Goldgenie encourage purchasers to involve themselves in the design process to make the phone unique them. White, pink and black diamonds, sapphires, corundum, topaz, emeralds, rubies, tourmalines and tanzanite stones can all be added to the phone if the “standard” plain gold finish isn’t enough for you.
Many people view the pricing of the standard iPhone 6 to be a little extortionate, especially for the larger storage options. Goldgenie’s bespoke gold model starts from £10,000 though, around $15,200 USD. The highest-end model when adorned with diamonds and other stones costs in excess £2.3 million, around $3.5 million. It looks like devoted Apple fans have yet another thing to aspire to.
