Review: Jackie Evancho delivers breathtaking version of ‘Ave Maria’

This rendition was filmed live from Longwood Gardens. Dressed in an elegant evening gown, and backed by an orchestra, Evancho commences “Ave Maria” in a subtle fashion and really takes time in her delivery, exposing the rawness and honesty of the lyrics.

The control she displays over her voice is tremendous, and she tackles the high notes in the chorus effortlessly, showcasing her angelic vocals and piercing pipes. Simply put, she is the Sarah Brightman of our generation, and that ought to be taken as a major compliment.

“Ave Maria” can also be found on her latest studio offering, Awakening.

Fans of Jackie Evancho in “The Big Apple” are in for a real treat. She will be performing at Best Buy Theater in Times Square, New York City, on March 3.

The Verdict

Overall, Jackie Evancho’s voice is an eighth world wonder. To be that young (14 years old) and to be able to sing classical music so well is a true gift from the heavens above. Her version of “Ave Maria” garners an A rating.
