Is it a new stable version for Elementary OS this time?

However, what the OS creators are going to unveil to the world after four days continues to remain just speculation among the hardcore fans of Elementary OS.

While the users of OS like to believe that it could be the final stable version of the upcoming Freya OS, many think that it could also be another beta version, considering the time Elementary creators take in between releases and various alpha and beta test versions.

The current version Elementary OS Luna was released 19 months ago in August 2013. It came with a bundle of necessary applications that included an email client, an instant messenger, photo manager, screenshot app, web browser, music player and video player. But, these are not the only applications available — with the software centre providing more than 68,000 applications, there are a variety of software programs that would satisfy all kinds of users.

In the world of OS’, Elementary OS is considered as the most beautiful and elegant one, due to its simple and minimalist design. It is not just Linux users who are attracted to the stripped down OS that needs much less configuration and documentation, but also Windows and Mac users find it appealing due to its high speed factor that helps the OS to boot and shut down in less than 10 seconds. The response time for commands is also very high making it a favorite among OS hoppers. There are hackintosh users who also prefer Elementary due to its close resemblance to Mac.

The next few days will show the world what the countdown is all about and whether the wait was for a new stable version or just another beta release.
