Lijiao Gong from China came in first place, earning the gold medal in the women’s shot put with a distance of 19.94 meters, while Hungary’s Anita Marton came in second place with 19.49 meters. Finally, Michelle Carter, representing Team USA, came in third, taking a bronze medal, with a throw of 19.14 meters, which she secured in her third attempt.

Last summer, at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Michelle Carter took home the gold medal for the United States of America (USA), with a throw of 20.63 meters, pulling a major upset.
