Olympic gold medalist Mark Schultz earns Jiu-Jitsu black belt (Includes interview)

He received his black belt from 8th degree black belt Pedro Sauer. “It felt great,” Schultz said. “It was a long time coming. I worked really hard for it. It was the culmination of a lot of hard work, time and energy. It was a great feeling to finally get it.”

This is quite the impressive milestone for Schultz since it has been a long time coming.

His plans for the future include giving a speaking engagement in Wisconsin, as well as participating in a banquet, prior to heading over to New Jersey.

Schultz’ New Year’s resolution for 2016 is to switch over to a “plant-based diet,” especially since he has heard a lot of favorable things about it.

His sports biography, Foxcatcher, continues to be a commercial success. “It’s selling really good,” he said. “It just translated into Mandarin, and I just came back from giving the keynote speech at the World Agricultural Expo last week.”
