2017 NFL Mock Draft: Updated first round projections

Finding a quarterback is always important, especially for those franchises that miss the playoffs and need a change under center. Cleveland has been one of those teams for the last decade and it now appears that the Browns will once again head into another season with a change at the position.

Walter Football has suggested North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky could be the answer. The young man has skyrocketed up draft boards this season with his play and decision making. With above average size and arm strength, his style of play is perfect for the next level and with some hard work and a bit of luck, he could be the savior of a franchise that desperately needs some help.

DeShone Kizer of Notre Dame has topped the player rankings for most of the season and despite the Irish suffering through a miserable season, Kizer will still be an early first round pick. Chicago and San Francisco could be landing spots for the young quarterback as both teams need help at the position.

The Bears are the most likely candidate to take a new offensive leader as Jay Cutler is likely finished with the team. Kizer would be a good local choice and the publicity would be great for the windy city, even if the front office needs to move up into the top-3 to grab the talented signal caller.

Deshaun Watson entered the year as a sure-fire first round selection and despite another terrific season at Clemson, Watson has slipped in the player rankings. Several sources have the Tigers star slipping to round two with the 49ers, Pittsburgh and Buffalo all looking to add more talent at the position heading into the 2017 NFL season.

Things will change in the coming weeks, especially when general managers get a first-hand look at the best prospects early next year. These young men will all get the opportunity to become stars in the league, and if fitted with the right organization, maybe a Super Bowl title under the belts before their careers are finished.
