Emmy award-winning actress Laura Wright (“General Hospital”) was spotlighted in fellow Emmy winner Maurice Benard’s “State of Mind” mental health podcast. Digital Journal has the recap.
Benard plays the role of patriarch Sonny Corinthos on the ABC soap opera “General Hospital,” while Wright portrays Carly Corinthos.
Wright and Benard shared a moving and intimate conversation together. Wright opened up about her life after divorce and the loss of her parents. Her life story is an inspiration to us all, and Wright is the epitome of grace, class, and brevity.

This summer, Laura Wright was featured in “The Locher Room,” hosted by Alan Locher, where he celebrated her 30 years in daytime television.
She made her television debut as Ally Rescott on the ABC daytime drama “Loving” on June 25, 1991. She played that role on “Loving” up until the debut of “The City” in 1995. She played the role of Ally on “The City” until the show’s demise in March of 1997.
On August 1, 1997, Laura joined the cast of “Guiding Light” in the role of Cassie Layne Winslow, a role she played for eight years before moving to “Port Charles” and “General Hospital”.
Laura Wright took over the role of Carly Corinthos in November of 2005, a role that she plays to this day. In 2011, Wright earned the coveted Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” for her superb portrayal of Carly Corinthos.
