Review: James Maslow charms on new song ‘Lies’ with DJ Unlike Pluto (Includes first-hand account)

“Lies” has a neat electronic dance music (EDM) vibe to it, a refreshing melody and memorable lyrics. It is a collaboration with DJ Unlike Pluto, and it is evident that they work well together.

Maslow showcases his rich falsetto, captivating voice, and wide range as an artist. “I don’t want to hear these lies, lies, lies, Got me thinking about this love, Got me wondering about us,” Maslow sings in the chorus.

The Verdict

Overall, James Maslow succeeds on his solo single “Lies.” It is great to hear original music from the singing sensation again, especially after so many other songs that he has covered on his YouTube channel. If his forthcoming studio album is anywhere near as good as this song, then his fans and listeners will be in for a real treat. “Lies” garners an A rating.
