Review: Hi Def rocks Main Street in Farmingdale on Long Island (Includes first-hand account)

They played as part of Farmingdale Music on Main 2018, which was sponsored by the Farmingdale Village Merchants Association. The band performed for a great turnout of fans and audience members.

Their set was highly eclectic, covering some of the newer pop hits such as Dua Lipa’s “New Rules” and Maren Morris and Zedd’s “The Middle,” as well as the classics. D’Orta tackled Rihanna’s “We Found Love” with grace, and incorporated it as a medley with Whitney Houston’s upbeat “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.” D’Orta showcased her tremendous vocal range on the signature Guns N’ Roses tune “Sweet Child o’ Mine,” which received a major response from the crowd.

Hi Def closed their set with a fan-favorite tune, “Wonderwall” by Oasis, where everybody sang along with them. This song, in particular, was quite the spectacle since it involved two street performers doing an impressive fire juggling act.

The Verdict

Overall, Gina D’Orta and every other band member in Hi Def rocked as a whole. They gave Main Street in Farmingdale a night of pop-rock music to remember. Hi Def is worth seeing live whenever they are playing in the area.

While they are known for playing weddings, it is safe to say that Hi Def can do it all (street fairs, corporate events, and private parties. They truly are one of the best “party bands” on Long Island.
