Actor and singer-songwriter Charles Esten charms on his latest single “One Good Move.”
The single was co-penned by Esten, as well as Sam Backoff, Zarni deVette, and Elise Hayes. Marshall Altman served as the producer.
It is a reflective power ballad that describes a misspent youth that paid off in the end with “one good move.” In Esten’s case, it was meeting Patty, his college sweetheart and wife of 31 years.
Esten’s rich and rumbling vocals on this tune are reminiscent of Bob Carlisle (“Butterfly Kisses”) meets Bob Seger (“Chances Are”) coupled with country elements of Collin Raye (“Little Rock”). This is a song that is worth more than just a passing glance.
“One Good Move” is available on digital service providers by clicking here. It garners two thumbs up.
As an actor, he is known for his acting work in “Nashville,” and he stars as Ward Cameron in “Outer Banks” on Netflix.
