Review: Aerosmith, Post Malone close out 2018 MTV Video Music Awards (Includes first-hand account)

23-year-old rapper Post Malone sang his smash hit “Rockstar” with fellow rap artist 21 Savage. Malone went on to introduce acclaimed rock group Aerosmith, as they belted out their signature tune “Dream On,” where Steve Tyler nailed the piercing high notes that left the Radio City audience in total awe of his trademark pipes.

Malone joined Aerosmith for “Dream On,” where he played the electric guitar, as well as on their closing song “Toys in the Attic,” where Aerosmith took their fans on a trip down memory lane to 1975. Malone sang backing vocals on “Toys in the Attic” with Joe Perry. This performance was well-received, earning a huge standing ovation from the New York crowd.

Speaking of Post Malone, he and 21 Savage took home the 2018 MTV VMA “Moon Person” for “Song of the Year” for “Rockstar.” They beat out competition from such popular artists as Camila Cabello, Drake, Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran.
