Review: Kip Moore spontaneous at NASH FM 94.7’s Stage 17 in New York (Includes first-hand account)

Moore shared the stage with rising country artist Jordan Davis (“Singles You Up”).

A Georgia native, Moore claimed that his new album Slowheart is the best album that he’s ever recorded. “Are you guys good?” he asked, and kicked off his set with the ballad “That Was Us.”

He picked up the pace with the upbeat and fun “Beer Money,” which he incorporated as a crowd singalong. “Thank you,” he said, and continued with his radio-friendly single, the mid-tempo “More Girls Like You,” where the fans were stomping along.

Moore continued with such tunes as “Lipstick” and “Magic,” where he showcased his rich, raspy vocals. “Everybody having a good time?” he asked, and the answer was a resounding yes.

After “Complicated,” he sang more new tunes such as “Just Another Girl,” “Last Shot” and “Plead the Fifth,” the latter of which was the opening song from his new CD. Equally fun were the mellow “Heart’s Desire” and “Come And Get It.”

The Verdict

Overall, Kip Moore delivered at his live performance at NASH FM’s Stage 17. Most impressive about his set was that it was unscripted and spontaneous. Moore took song requests from the Stage 17 audience, and he went along with them, thus feeding off the crowd. It was a great introduction to many of the new songs from Slowheart, which comes out on September 8. His show at NASH FM garnered 4.5 out of 5 stars.
