Actress, singer, and songwriter Loren Allred of “Britain’s Got Talent” fame chatted about her new music, which includes her single “I Hear Your Voice.”

During her tenue on “Britain’s Got Talent,” Allred earned a golden buzzer from judge Amanda Holden for her “Never Enough” performance from “The Greatest Showman.”

‘I Hear Your Voice’ song

She noted that she wrote her new song “I Hear Your Voice” with songwriter Ashley Monroe (Pistol Annies) and producer/songwriter Michel Heyaca in Nashville, Tennessee. “Ashley and I bonded over a conversation about lost loved ones; her dad passed away when she was young and I had recently lost my grandmother,” Allred said.

“We talked about how even though our loved ones are gone, we can still feel their presence so distinctly and hearing their voice helps us move through hard times. I’ve found that the love and lessons you learn from the people you’re close to never leave you and that is the silver lining when trying to cope with loss,” Allred said.

Allred remarked about “I Hear Your Voice,” “As we get older and experience loss, it can be scary and often feels like something you’ll never get over. My hope is that for any readers that are grieving, know that even after someone is gone, there will be beautiful moments when you will feel comforted by their memory.”

“Feeling their presence and hearing their voice won’t always be so hard, and eventually if you hang in there, being reminded of them can create a sense of peace,” she added.

Music and songwriting inspirations

Regarding her music and songwriting inspirations, she said, “Personal experiences always inspire my songwriting. Sometimes I am trying to heal from something by getting my thoughts and emotions out in a song, and sometimes I write about lessons I’ve learned, hoping that if I’ve experienced something profound, maybe it will connect with someone else.”

“I always hope that my songs can help people move through their personal experiences- the highs and the heartaches,” she added.

The digital age

On being an artist in the digital age, now with streaming and technology being so prevalent, she said, “Being an independent artist in the digital age can be an incredible thing, I have the ability to put out my own music in a way that can reach everyone around the world It has of course been a learning curve, though.”

“Trying to stay consistent with making TikToks and reels has been an adjustment, but it’s been fun! Now, I love TikTok and learn so much from it,” she added.

Advice for young artists

For young and aspiring artists, Allred encouraged them to “be themselves.” “I am a believer in living your authentic truth and it might not be received well by everyone but your people will find you. Being your unique self makes your art shine in an unreplicatable way,” she said.

Dream duet choices in music

When asked about her dream duet choices in music, Allred responded, “This is tough because I LOVE sharing the stage and recording with other artists. It makes everything so much more fun! As a singer, there are so many incredible artists I would love to collaborate with.

“If I had to choose a dream duet partner, it would have to be Celine Dion or Mariah Carey,” she said. “Both have inspired me since I was young. Plus, Celine seems like so much fun to be around and a total ham on and off stage.”

“Also, I would love to see Mariah’s songwriting process. We all know she has that amazing voice, but she’s also a genius songwriter and sharing a room and watching her create would be a dream come true,” she added.

Success

On her definition of the word success, Allred said, “To me, success is living a balanced life. It’s all about finding that sweet spot between chasing your dreams and enjoying the little things in life. That’s what keeps me inspired and excited to keep going.”

“I really enjoy exploring all that New York City has to offer,” she admitted. “I love reading a book in a local coffee shop, sitting at the bar and having a solo dinner at my favorite restaurant, but then I also love songwriting and performing.”
