Acclaimed singer-songwriter Judy Collins has earned a 2022 Grammy nomination for “Best Folk Album” for “Spellbound.”

This marks Collins’ 29th studio album and her sixth in the past six years. It is also the first album that will feature all original songs that were written solely by Collins. “Spellbound” features 12 modern folks songs, as well as a bonus tune of her evergreen “The Blizzard.”

“I was thrilled to find out that I have been nominated by the @recordingacademy for Best Folk Album at the 65th Grammys! And in such great company with @aoifemaria@madicunningham@punchbrothers, and my dear friend @therealjanisian,” she posted on social media.

“Thank you so very much to everyone involved in making ‘Spellbound,’ without you none of this would be possible! And thank you to the Recording Academy! What a day!” she exclaimed.

The album title references a formative time in Collins’ life when her pure love of the outdoors lured her to consider life as a park ranger.
