Acclaimed Hallmark actor Andrew Walker sat down and chatted about the importance of mental health awareness.

Last month, he shared a moving post on social media, which tackled mental health awareness (and the subject matter of depression), and it resonated with his fans, readers, and peers. “I think a lot of people see the highlight reel of my life on social media. May was Mental Health Awareness Month and I wanted people to know this piece of me. Some people in my family deal with depression and I curb it, and I’m more preventative in the things that I get to do,” he said.

“My wife and I run a juice company in Los Angeles, and we work in the health and wellness space. The things that I put in my body and how I feed myself helps me deal and curb depression in a lot of ways. There are lot of pieces and ingredients to help in coping with that,” he elaborated.

“With that post, I wanted to tell people that I am human too and I deal with it too and I have to work at it. Those are the things that I do to help process it and we are all processing things. It was really great that so many people reached out to me as a result of this post, so in the future, there will be more ‘Real Talk’ from me. I want people to know that I am a real human being,” he added.

From June 24 to 26, he is in West Palm Beach, Florida, attending the Roma Drama Live fan event. “It feels incredible to be here,” he exclaimed. “It’s a fan-fueled weekend, the fans are what it’s all about. It is great to be here with the fans and my peers.”
