Child actress Arabella Grant chatted about being a part of the film “To Leslie,” which was directed by Michael Morris.

Margaret Mead once said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” This quote applies to Arabella Grant.

“It was so much fun to play Betsy,” Grant exclaimed. “It was the most fun acting job I’ve ever had, I got to have an entire carnival all to myself, eat sweets and play games! It was also really cool to use a southern accent, it was the first acting role I’ve done where I had to use a different accent.”

Grant had kind words about working with her co-stars Andrea Riseborough and Marc Maron. “Andrea and Marc were both so nice and fun to work with, I loved acting with them. We also had a lot of fun playing different carnival games. Michael Morris is one of the nicest directors I have ever worked with, he is the best,” she said.

“My favorite part was probably learning to line dance,” she said about the experience. “I had a scene with Andrea, Marc and Kourtney where we all line dance together and it was so fun to shoot. There was a choreographer there that taught us all the moves and there was music playing all day and it was just so much fun.”

Regarding her future plans, she said, “In the future I want to be a scientist, an artist and also keep acting. I love engineering and want to design robots too. I have a lot of plans.”

For young and aspiring actors, she said, “My advice for other child actors is to never give up, have fun and be yourself and you’ll do great!”

On her definition of the word success, Grant said, “Success to me is the feeling you have whenever you accomplish something you’ve been working hard on.”

For viewers and fans, she concluded about the movie, “I think the biggest lesson in ‘To Leslie’ is to never give up on yourself or the people you love. Even if there are hard times, you can get through them, especially if you have a friend.”
