Review: Scotty James back with infectious new country single ‘Still’ (Includes first-hand account)

His vocals on “Still” are crisp, impressive and reminiscent of a country version of Grammy winner John Mayer. It is a track from his 2016 studio album Streets, which was released on his independent record label, Liberty Stone Records. Its neat fiddle instrumentation and warm lyrics are an added bonus.

“Checking my phone waiting up on you, slow dancing in the living room, going to sleep mad and drunk, and making up in the morning, not knowing what we had to lose,” James sings, in its chorus.

In March of 2013, James was the recipient of the “Canadian Radio Music Award,” and his breakthrough single “Wanna Be Loved” was a Top 20 hit on the adult contemporary charts.
