Review: Michelle Wright back with outstanding new single ‘Laugh a Little’ (Includes first-hand account)

“Laugh a Little” is a track from her stellar studio album, Strong, where all of her songs are remarkable and compelling. While the Canadian country songstress did not pen this new song herself, she sings “Laugh a Little” with such conviction that one can easily believe that she did. It has an optimistic and inspiring message to it, just like the majority of her songs do.

Based on the song’s lyrics, it is evident that laughter is the best medicine and Wright conveys that theme across quite eloquently.

The Verdict

Overall, Michelle Wright’s “Laugh a Little” is the best single released by a female country star thus far in 2015. Her rich alto voice shines throughout, and she is able to make a solid connection with her fans and listeners. She sure knows how to knock it out of the park. The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) awards ought to take notice of this superb piece of musical work, and nominated Wright again for “Female Artist of the Year,” an honor that she has received five times from the CCMAs (where she is tied with Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Shania Twain for the most wins). The country radio airwaves ought to give this tune more than just a passing glance, and play it on heavy rotation. Her empowering new single garners 5 out of 5 stars.
