NFL Power Rankings: Falcons flying high after win over Houston

New England entered the week holding down the top spot, but with the Patriots not playing this weekend, three wins just makes it tough to keep them on top, but make no mistake, Tom Brady and company are out to prove something this year and winning back-to-back Super Bowls isn’t out of the question.

Green Bay hit the road and defeated San Francisco, despite scoring just 17 points. The effort put in by the Packers defense and the fact the team has four wins, puts Aaron Rodgers and his band of ‘cheese heads’ on top of the ladder heading into their contest against St Louis in week 5.

One of the best early season stories in the NFL is Atlanta as the Falcons have come out smoking. With 137 points through four games and big wins over Dallas and Houston the last two weeks, this team is making a claim for a spot in the top-3.

Cincinnati has made the playoffs the last four years and despite not having a win in any of those seasons, they are off and running again in 2015 with a 4-0 mark. The Bengals are playing good football on both sides of the ball and with Andy Dalton only getting better, this team could be a dark horse to make a deep run in January.

Arizona was looking unbeatable through three weeks, but the Cardinals stumbled with a home loss to St Louis on Sunday. Too many mistakes cost the Cards’ in front of their home crowd and the defeat now has the team dropping to seventh in the latest power rankings.

Every year the league has a few surprises and a closer look at the standings has a few experts scratching their heads, but with only a quarter of the season in the books, things will change and teams like Philadelphia and Oakland could be flipping spots with division rivals by the time winter comes around.
