Nenzel - I recently received a request from Lynn Sneyd to do a featured book review on rancher Alan Day's new book, "The Horse Lover". Day is the brother of Sandra Day O'Conner, a retired Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Thousands of America's iconic wild horses may be headed to slaughter at the hands of the U.S. government; some herds may face extinction. Oil, mining and cattle interests are driving down the wild horse population and the space left for them to roam.

Reno - The ongoing battle in the United States over the round-up of wild horses, an attempt by the Bureau of Land Management to control the population, has taken a new turn after a group accused the government of auctioning wild horses for slaughter.
