The way you can represent your skill and experience in SAP can effectively influence prospective employer’s perception and thus they can appoint you suitably in their company.
SAP stands for Systems, Applications and Products. So far SAP career is considered, you can’t skip any single skill that you have acquired as any of the skills can help you get your dream SAP job. If you have proper SAP training, getting a job in this field won’t be a big challenge for you; all you need to use proper resume techniques that project your SAP expertise to your best advantage. Please note that having proper SAP training is the key to getting a suitably compensated SAP based job.
Here are some tips that can help you right an impressing SAP resume.
* Emphasize your experience – Job experience section must start with the latest job and then move in reverse order. Interviewers are more interested in your latest project; your role and responsibility in that project. So you must clearly explain everything regarding your last project handled. But if that didn’t require your SAP skill, then make your experience about that job shorter, only focusing those skills pertinent to your prospective job. Ideally, the first page of your resume should focus on your SAP experience to create a positive impression on the employer. Try to keep details of less recent jobs short and list only skills that are relevant to the applied job.
* Be precise and specific - Indistinctness about last attended job roles and responsibility can make your prospective employer annoyed. For example, if you’re better in functional SAP than SAP programming, then mention it firmly and clearly. If you have expertise in both the fields, give precise description of your experience in each of the areas. Now mention how the project you handled helped your employer. To explain this, provide bottom line benefits like revenue improvement, cost curtailing etc. that your previous employer was able to achieve. Make sure you mention trainer position if any in your CV.
* Include keywords – This is another important part of writing an impressive SAP resume. Don’t forget to include the phrases or words that the employers are likely to use while they search on the Google for SAP resumes. Appropriate keywords increase chances of your resume being seen by different employers. If you have experience to work as a SAP FICO consultant, you can include keywords like SAP FICO technical, FICO functional consultant etc. in your CV.
Discussed above are some very important points that you must keep in mind while writing a resume that would help you get a well compensated SAP job. Remember that a SAP certification is the only thing that can give you a cutting edge. So before you apply for a SAP based job, get your SAP certification.
