Ali Fazal: Bobby Jasoos actor ‘no regrets’ turning down Homeland
Ali Fazal is happy with his decision not to visit the US in order to take part in a workshop with for the US television drama series, “Homeland,” it has been revealed.
As
reported by Digital Spy recently, the Indian actor had been invited to fly to the US to take part in a workshop scheduled for the first week in July.
Fazal confirmed to NDTV, “I was approached for
Homeland, and it was a great opportunity.”
However,
he says that the dates they asked for clashed with “Mukesh Sir’s film and my promotions for
Bobby Jasoos [so] there was no question of any talks because [this was] important.”
While
Ali Fazal may not be about to join the cast for Season 4 of
Homeland, the 27-year-old — who has already had parts in the Indian films
3 Idiots (2009) and the unexpected 2013 hit
Fukrey —
has confirmed that he’ll be making his Hollywood debut in 2015: in the next instalment of
The Fast and the Furious, the film franchise starring Vin Diesel and
the late Paul Walker.
Meanwhile,
as previously announced, another Indian actor —
Life of Pi’s Suraj Sharma —
will be joining series regulars Clare Danes and Mandy Patinkin for Homeland’s fourth season — which is currently in production — while Nazanin Boniadi’s Season 3 recurring character Fara Sherazi is back, too,
now promoted to a series regular.
Season 4 of Homeland is scheduled to premiere on Showtime this fall.
