Op-Ed: Academy of Country Music awards predictions — Video of the Year

The Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards are expected to take place tomorrow in Las Vegas and the following six country artists are nominated for "Video of the Year." Similar to the award for "Vocal Event of the Year," this is an off-camera award.

In addition to the artist, this award also goes to the video's director(s) and producer(s).
The nominees include Eric Church for "Creepin'," Kacey Musgraves for "Merry Go 'Round," Little Big Town's "Tornado," Hunter Hayes' "Wanted," Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and the Zac Brown Band's "The Wind."
Although all of these are well-crafted videos, the favorites include Eric Church, Little Big Town, Hunter Hayes and Taylor Swift. The Zac Brown Band and Kacey Musgraves would have to settle with the nomination (even though Kacey's music video and her song were both stellar and my personal favorite pick in this category).
If this race turns out to be a popularity contest, as it has been in the past, look for Taylor Swift to take home the win, especially since her nominated video crossed over into the pop music world as well and the song in itself broke many records. (It even topped Connie Smith's classic hit "Once A Day" to become the longest-running No. 1 single by a female artist in country music history). Swift is also the only nominee in this category to be up for "Entertainer of the Year." In the event that Swift does not win, look for Little Big Town or Hunter Hayes or Eric Church to be the possible spoilers.
