Oscar Pistorius 'on verge of suicide'

South African runner, Oscar Pistorius, may be "on the verge of suicide, his close friend, Mike Azzle, has revealed. Pistorius is accused of killing his girlfriend and rising legal fees have forced him to sell his belongings.
Mr. Azzle made his comments for a BBC3 documentary about the Paralympic champion's murder case. Pistorius maintains his innocence. Speaking with BBC News, Mike Azzle described his friend as a "broken man."
Azzle revealed he has been in regular contact with Pistorius and is truly worried about his mental well being. He said his voice is shaky and he has been forced to sell his race horses.
"I would say that just speaking to him, he is a broken man. I would go as far as to say that he could be on the verge of suicide. It really worries me.," he said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Pistorius' lawyers have filed an appeal against his bail restrictions, The Associated Press reports. The appeal, which was filed Friday, which Pretoria, South Africa, reads "The conditions appealed against are unwarranted and not substantiated by the facts."
Oscar Pistorius was released on bail on February 22, and has been staying with his uncle ever since.
He is on trial for fatally shooting his girlfriend, model Reeva Stankamp. He claims he thought she was an intruder, and that the whole thing was a tragic mistake, BBC News reports.
Pistorius, a double amputee athlete, has been asked to surrender his passport and all travel documents, The Associated Press reports.
His lawyers argued that evidence presented at his bail hearing shows their client is not a flight risk and that he should be allowed to leave South Africa if he chooses.
Oscar Pistorius, who is also known as "Blade Runner," shot and killed his girlfriend on February 14.
