Video: Three minutes of gay porn interrupts Canadian TV newscast
A newscast on Canadian CHCH TV in Hamilton, Ontario was interrupted by three minutes of eye-popping hardcore gay pornography. The morning newscast went off air around 9.30 a.m.
The TV management blamed the incident on an error arising during a repair job by a cable company. About three minutes of the gay porn was broadcast to shocked Canadians who sat at breakfast table watching the early morning news. Panicky technicians at the TV station worked for three minutes before they could take the movie off air.
According to The Blaze
, the TV station apologized in a statement posted on its website: “At about 9:30 our broadcast signal was overrun briefly by inappropriate video – pornography to be specific. [We] would like to apologize to our viewers. This was a problem that originated, not at CHCH, but at a cable company. Apparently some cable lines had been cut, and in the splicing back together some inappropriate content went to air."
According to Hollywood Reporter
, CHCH vice-president Mike Katrycz, said: "It felt like an eternity but I think it was on there for about a minute. We discovered through quick investigation that it was not (our station), it was one of the cable companies that had patched it.There was nothing wrong with the transmission from (us)...it was a problem at one of the cable companies that was beyond our control."
Katrycz apologized to viewers, saying that was the first time in 30 years such incident happened. He said: "Of course, we know there are kids out there, there people who don't want this in their homes and would never invite this in our homes."
According to Daily Mail
, Twitter came alive with comments about the early morning mix-up:
Shiona Thompson at the handle @Shionatalk, tweeted: "Did I just see what I think I just saw on #chch TV??"
