Google Maps added a new feature to help American voters find their nearest polling stations. It is available in most parts of the U.S.

Instead of searching or calling to find out the nearest polling station to vote, Google Maps has added a new feature called US Voter Info and helps people find the nearest polling station.
Visit this link and type in the address where you live or any other place you are interested. Google Maps will provide a list of polling stations near that referenced area. Then you can get directions or more information about that particular polling station.

The site is open source so others also can contribute. Google has enlisted many state and local election officials, the League of Women Voters, the Pew Charitable Trusts and Voting Information Project.
If you don’t find any polling station near your area, it recommends a mail-in option and provides additional information about mailing in your vote.
You can also add a Google Gadget for Voter info to allow your readers to find the nearest polling station. Click this link to add this gadget.
Previously the polling information was available only locally, so it is good to see such a tool available online for everyone to use.
