MSU Professor on Paid Leave after Questions Concerning Sex Offender Status?

Is this the kind of person that should be influencing young minds?
Despite defending the continued employment and presence of Eugene Michael Hendrix, University officials have now placed him on paid leave until further questions can be answered. In a release, they claimed he had been honest about his status and compliant with sex offender registration requirements.
There is some question as to whether or not this information is correct, but the real question is, why would the Missouri State University hire someone like Hendrix in the first place? The man confessed to raping a nine-year-old boy in Ohio in the 1980’s.
He was released after serving just three and one half years but apparently hasn’t complied with sex offender registration nor the stipulation that he stay away from children.
An MSU student raised the concern, informing parents that a sex offender was employed by the University. Hendrix admitted to working with kids, but said, “I didn’t tell them about that,” referring to the administration.
