Florida woman uses her baby like a baseball bat to beat boyfriend

Tatyana Allen, 18, of Ocoee, Fla. was arrested and charged with using her 6-month-old infant son to beat her boyfriend and throwing the baby on the sand during a fight in Daytona Beach. The boyfriend was not identified.

According to CBS affiliate WKMG, Allen was charged with battery and infliction of physical and mental injury to a child in the July 4th incident that took place about 4:30 p.m.

The baby was taken to a local hospital as a precaution but was not injured. The boyfriend, who was said to be the baby’s father, was unharmed after the fight.

As for Allen, she left the courtroom in tears and is now facing a $30,000 bond.

One 911 caller told the dispatcher: “She took the baby by his body, and hit the baby against the man and then threw the baby down.”

Dispatch: “Did the baby look like it was crying or anything?”

Caller: “The baby was screaming. It was face down in the sand. It can’t hold its head up by itself, that’s how little it was.”

Several witnesses told police the boyfriend was punched in the face a number of times by Allen, who then used the baby like a baseball bat and swung the child at him before throwing the little boy on the sand. The boyfriend picked the child up to comfort him but Allen “snatched” him back, said one witness.

“As this happened, the baby’s head was not being supported and was ‘dangling,’ according to two sworn witness statements,” the police report said, according to ABC affiliate WFTV.

Believe it or not, Allen also called 911 to claim that her boyfriend had hit her. She never mentioned a baby, even though the dispatcher could hear an infant screaming in the background.

“I’m with my baby daddy and he had pushed me and hitting on me, and I need to you to come pick him up,” Allen said.

If Allen is able to make bail, she is not allowed to have any contact with the baby, unless the Florida Department of Children and Families allows contact between the two. The child is being taken care of by family members.
