A new trend has emerged online, and it imitates the Ice Bucket Challenge. However, this challenge is dangerous and apparently it involves cocaine.
Before participants nominate their friends, they snort cocaine. The fad is from Mexico, and it is being shared on various social media sites. The fad even had its own page on Facebook, but Facebook ended up deleting it.
'Reto del pasesito' is the name of the challenge, and apparently it required nominees to snort a white powder on film and then nominate others to do the same thing.
The Mexican press has dubbed the fad as a challenge for wealthy members of society. Authorities are taking this seriously too because they are looking into the videos and investigating.
One of the videos uploaded had a caption saying this was a new challenge among young socialites which consists of snorting cocaine. One video has more than 15,000 views
There are other media outlets that reported the people participating in the challenge are wealthy teenagers.
The trend started a few days ago. For now, it seems that the fad is only an issue in Mexico.
The Ice Bucket Challenge was a trend that took off and people all around the globe participated in it. The challenge was to raise awareness and money for neurodegenerative disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS.
