Weatherman flawlessly pronounces 58-letter name of village

On Tuesday, one of the hottest locations in the UK was Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, which is located in northern Wales.

Sometimes the name of the village is shortened, but Channel 4 News used the full name during Tuesday’s weather forecast, and the weatherman pronounced it perfectly.

The weatherman, Liam Dutton, was talking about how there was a big contrast in tempature across the UK, and at one point he said:

It was just 12 degrees in the coastal parts of Eastern England, with cloudy skies. But in the sunshine, in Northwest Wales…just up the road from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, the temperature got to 21 Celsius.

Dutton said that he wasn’t nervous at all when the time came to pronounce the name. He said that there’s always a chance you can stumble, but it is just the nature of the profession. Dutton added that he has been doing the weather for more than 10 years now, and he’s at a point that he doesn’t get nervous.

Before giving the weather live on air, he took to Twitter and set himself up for embarrassment just in case he couldn’t say the name right.
