Op-Ed: Opposing Kathleen Wynne’s sex-ed doesn’t make you ‘homophobic’

Premier Kathleen Wynne, Education Minister Liz Sandals and other provincial grits called the previous sex-ed curriculum “dangerously out of date.” The newest curriculum consists of teaching children about sexual consent, six different gender identities, anal and oral sex and masturbation (ages 12 to 13). Many parents feel that kids should not be taught this, no matter what grade they’re in. Instead, such a responsibility being left to mothers and fathers (or guardians).

Despite the Liberal Party’s persistent denial, it was helmed by former Deputy Education Minister Ben Levin, who recently pled guilty to possessing child pornography, creating written child pornography material and encouraging mothers, who happened to be law enforcement officials, to sexually abuse their children. It has been well-documented that Levin was actively involved in the construction of the latest instalment of the sex-ed curriculum.

Here are a couple of statements from memos and newsletters being distributed across the Education Ministry:

“Dear colleagues, I am writing to provide an update on our sector’s agenda … I will be filling the ADM (assistant deputy minster) position previously held by George Zegarac … The division formerly headed by George Zegarac will be renamed as ‘Learning and Curriculum.’ It will have responsibility for curriculum and for Special Education including Provincial Schools.”

“I was the deputy minister of education. In that role, I was the chief civil servant. I was responsible for the operation of the Ministry of Education and everything that they do; I was brought in to implement the new education policy.”

Instead of getting into the pedophile’s involvement in the curriculum, let’s take a look at Premier Wynne’s suggestion that those who oppose her government’s sex-ed agenda were “homophobic,” a preposterous notion. A parent expostulating does not equate to homophobia; a parent finally breaking their insouciance does not mean they detest gay people.

No, parents just want to provide their input into such a curriculum, they want to have a say in what’s being taught to their first, second, third graders. It’s quite petty for the premier to accuse a phalanx of mothers, fathers, political opponents and non-profit organizations of only disapproving of this absurd curriculum because they hate gay people.

Of course, nothing should surprise us when it comes to Wynne and her Liberals – corruption, bribery, theft, lies, waste and a paedophile minister.

The opposition to parents getting actively involved in what is being taught to their own children is perplexing. Why are parents being vilified for wanting to have a say in what teachers are instructing to their son or daughter, especially when it comes to informing kids about a gender spectrum and sexual activities?

Let’s be clear: parents aren’t in opposition to the sex-ed curriculum because the premier is a lesbian. They’re against it because they don’t want anal sex becoming a common lesson in sex-ed classes for sixth graders.

Back to Levin. Due to this paedophile’s involvement in this curriculum, it should be scrapped and these senior bureaucrats should head back to the drawing board and produce something that has not been touched by a paedophile’s hands.
