Put A Halt To Holiday Hackers!

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Today, PC Guardian released a home-use version of its data protection software, Encryption Plus CD-ROM — in time to help home computer users defend their privacy against would-be holiday hackers.

“Many organizations have improved data protection at the office; however
users forget to protect information stored on home computers,” says PC
Guardian President Noah Groth, whose computer security firm has specialized in
data protection since 1984. A home computer is a back door to personal
financial or medical information and to details about one’s business, adds
Groth.

Encryption Plus CD-ROM is a Windows 95/98 program that protects
information stored and distributed on computer CDs. The commercial version of
the software lists at $499.95.

Now PC Guardian offers Encryption Plus CD-ROM for home users for only
$99.95.

Encryption Plus CD-ROM prevents unauthorized access to and viewing of
confidential information stored on CDs. The program encrypts files using the
powerful Blowfish algorithm and a 192-bit encryption key. Users transfer
encrypted files directly to a recordable CD.

“Encryption Plus CD-ROM is a fast and totally safe data encryption
tool. Consumers can use the program with complete confidence, and at any time
they will be able to decrypt and fully recover the data protected with this
software,” says Groth.

Also, the program allows users to control how the data are recovered. For
instance, users can decrypt anything on the CD using only a password, or they
can increase the restrictions by allowing the password to work only on
specific computers or by requiring users to match a challenge-and-response
combination of passwords.

Encryption Plus CD-ROM is available from PC Guardian via the Internet.
Users can purchase the software on-line with a credit card and download the
program for immediate use by visiting http://www.pcguardian.com.

Worldwide, more than a quarter million users rely on Encryption Plus software to protect data. PC Guardian also develops computer anti-theft products. Its clients include Bank of America, Cisco Systems, SBC Communications, and numerous government agencies, among others.
