Meet the world’s thinnest laptop: HP introduces the new Spectre

HP wants to make an impression with the new Spectre. It unveiled the laptop at the International Luxury Conference in Versailles today, announcing an aluminium-bodied machine that is no thicker than an AAA-battery.
The Spectre is 10.4mm thick and weighs only 2.45 pounds. By comparison, Apple’s thinnest MacBook is a maximum of 13.1mm thick and weighs 2.03 pounds. HP has used a high-quality finish with glossy copper accents intended to reflect a “hand-polished, jewellery-like finish,” incorporating a 13.3-inch Full HD edge-to-edge display to complete the laptop’s design.

The processor is a sixth-generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 chip, depending on specification. Up to 8GB of memory and 512GB of solid state storage can be configured. Every model features Bang & Olufsen stereo speakers, a 9.5 hour battery life and three USB Type-C ports, two of which support Thunderbolt data transfers.
“The HP Spectre is the thinnest notebook in the world, and unlike the majority of other super thin PCs on the market, this laptop doesn’t compromise power or features,” said Kevin Frost, vice president and general manager, of HP consumer personal systems. “A beautiful Full HD edge-to-edge display, Intel Core i processors coupled with Bang & Olufsen sound and a sexy and thin design, HP amazing engineers set a new standard with the all new Spectre.”
