How The Grinch Stole The Hearts of Music Fans – On The Internet

SAN DIEGO — Few holiday characters have captured the
imagination of children and adults through the years quite like the Grinch.
From his original appearance in the classic Dr. Seuss book to the animated TV
special that has become a perennial holiday favorite to the hit film currently
playing in theaters everywhere, the “Mean Greenie” has proved an enduring
character who has now found his way to the web.

As a recent batch of Grinch-related online tunes indicates, the Internet
is not immune to the charms of the humbugged green icon. From electronic
tracks very “indirectly” inspired by the character to a new version of the
famous “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” users can find such holiday tunes at http://www.mp3.com/stations/mean_greenie.

The song “Christmas Dreaming,” featured in the smash-hit film “How the
Grinch Stole Christmas,” also can be heard online at http://www.mp3.com/ifoundgod.
The track is written and performed by digital artists I Found God, who post
music on MP3.com (http://www.mp3.com).

“There is no limit to the variety of music to be found online,” said
Michael Robertson, chairman and chief executive officer of MP3.com, Inc.
(Nasdaq: MPPP). “As these great tunes show, the Internet music space offers
something for every taste this holiday season and beyond.”
