NBA Rumors: Seth Curry to Brooklyn Nets?

General manager Sean Marks has a tough job rebuilding this franchise and unlike other teams, he will need to do the job through free agency, which has led to several rumors over the last few weeks.

The number one priority is finding a floor leader for this team, especially with last years starter Jarrett Jack not likely returning after a serious knee injury. The biggest issue is there are no big names on the market this summer at point guard, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t help available.

FanSided, along with the New York Post, have both reported that Marks could have his eye on Seth Curry of the Sacramento Kings.

The 25-year-old didn’t see much playing time until the last month of the season, but once he got his minutes, Curry averaged over 15 points per game and showed he could play at the point if necessary. Despite not being drafted after finishing his college career at Duke, the younger brother of the NBA MVP is now making a name for himself and that could payoff with a decent size contract this summer.

Brooklyn has other options, especially if they want a player with more experience, but won’t break the bank. Jeremy Lin was terrific coming off the bench for Charlotte this season and despite not playing well as a starter when he played with the LA Lakers, the 27-year-old could be ready to finish his career as a regular on the floor and the Nets are a great fit.

New head coach Kenny Atkinson has a good relationship with Lin, having coached the veteran guard when he first came into the league and no matter which direction this franchise decides to go, one of these players could get a fresh start with the Nets and add some much-needed depth to their back court.
