Interview: Independent wrestling sensation Rage opens up (Includes interview)

“I have been very lucky,” he said, about his wrestling career. “I’ve only been in the business for 3.5 years and I have had major opportunities, which is fantastic. I have been a fan my whole life.”

Rage continued, “When I first got into wrestling, I never thought I would have face paint on. I’ve always idolized the Ultimate Warrior, but I never thought I would use the face paint. I wanted to stand out, and I decided to put on make-up, and sure enough it just took off.”

He had nothing but the kindest words for Frankie’s East Side Gourmet Pizza in Farmingdale. “It’s awesome. I’ve eaten here once already and the pizza is great,” Rage said.

Tonight, Rage has a show in the Bronx, New York, and then he has a show on June 10 at Fight The World Wrestling (FTW), where he is teaming up with Raven from Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). “I have a lot of shows this month, and I’m trying to get more busy, so let’s see what happens,” he said.

When asked to reflect upon the last three years, he said, “There has been a lot of learning. A lot of friends and family that stuck behind me, and I’ve had a lot of support, which is the No. 1 thing.”

He defined the word success as “Being happy. Touching other people in a way that I may not physically do, but being able to inspire them,” he concluded.
