Women Veterans Giving is Recognizing a Woman Veteran with the Annual Melissa Washington Small Business Award on October 6

Sep. 27, 2022 / PRZen / ARLINGTON, Texas — Women Veterans Giving is introducing the woman veteran recipient of the annual Melissa Washington Small Business Award on Thursday, October 6, 2022. $3,500 will be awarded to one of three finalists to help her start or expand her business. The announcement will be made at the Business Beyond the Battlefield Conference in Arlington, Texas.

The three finalists for the award were selected by the Women Veterans Giving awards committee consisting of all previous awardees and led by Jennifer Vollbrecht, Marine Corps Veteran and small business owner. The finalists are:

  • Shon Barnwell, Air Force Veteran, Shon Barnwell Events, LLC
  • Stacey Bulluck, Army Veteran, Ordered Steps, Inc.
  • Jacqueline Garrick, Army Veteran, Whistleblowers of America

The Small Business Award is named for Melissa Washington, the CEO and Founder of Women Veterans Alliance and the nonprofit Women Veterans Giving. The award has been given annually since 2018.

“Congratulations to the finalists,” said Washington. “I’m excited to present one of them with a check for $3,500. They are inspiring, and we wish them much success in all their future endeavors.”
