In this latest initiative from the Women Automotive Network, special advisor Caroline Trudeau chats with Sabine Scheunert, Vice President Digital & IT Sales/Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars about the biggest macro trends she’s keeping up with, current opportunities for women within the automotive sector, and a preview about what she will be presenting at the upcoming Women Automotive Summit (June 21-22), including the importance of customer experience and how “data can fuel innovation in the automotive industry”.
Sabine is in a unique position to share her expertise and insight, being responsible for a worldwide workforce of almost 2000 individuals at Mercedes-Benz. As a female executive within the automotive industry, she is a champion for women in the technology and IT sector and has successfully created a niche in the automotive industry for the past 20 years, increasing female participation and representation in leadership roles within her sector.
In these series of interviews with leading women in the automotive industry, the Network hopes to raise awareness of current issues and provide a platform to celebrate these leaders’ successes. Some other contributors include: Jo Payne, President at Ford Romania; Helen Emsley, Executive Director of General Motors and Dr. Bettina Al-Sadik-Lowinski, who is author of the international best-selling book “Women in top management“.
A spokesperson for the Women Automotive Network emphasized the economic advantages that diversity brings, and how slow the industry has been so far in the uptake. It hopes to share latest statistics at their Annual virtual Summit this June and via their Network, which already has 2,500 members since launching this February.
