Michelle Kehoe’s Guidebook for Autistic Children Receives 5-star Rating on Amazon

Comprehensive handbook designed to guide parents and teachers with autistic children

Michelle Kehoe’s ‘Recognizing and Addressing Autism Spectrum Disorders in Toddlers,’ is currently ranking as one of the top guide books for people with special children. As a special education teacher who works with young children, Michelle has a broad understanding of SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) and ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) in children.

With 22 years of solid experience of working with toddlers and their families, Michelle understands how tasking and confusing  tending to special children can be. She began to receive students with autistic characteristics early in her teaching career, and the numbers increased rapidly. Due to this reason, she has always wanted a comprehensive handy guidebook of reference-type information and consumable charts and forms for guardians of pre- and newly diagnosed children with autism. Unable to find one, the special children teacher has taken it upon herself to compile her extensive knowledge and experience on the subject in her book.

Unlike many other informational pamphlets which are written in narrative form, Michelle has written this book in a checklist and chart form so that it can consumed as needed. This means that guardians can fill-in-the blanks and reproduce the information for any situation. She subscribed to this format because the narrative form of writing special guidebooks such as this is unsuitable to use in daily life situations.

According to her, ‘This handbook will give you assistance and general information regarding itinerant home and community special education at the early intervention level. I’ve included a section of common occurrences and situations and lists of community services, resources, related programs, and phone/contact information. Anyone who is involved with a child with ASD—whether as teacher, therapist, parent, or other family member—can benefit from this guide, and you are welcome to copy and use all templates provided as needed.’

‘A thorough understanding of neurodivergency in young children. Michelle clearly has an exstensive background in helping to teach those that are on the spectrum, whether it is for parents, siblings, educators, researchers etc. this guidebook will be a great insight,’ says Jacqueline K.
