Meli’s Monster Cookies to Be Featured in 100 Costco Stores Across Texas and Los Angeles

The expansion into Costco increases Meli’s Monster Cookies locations to more than 7,000

Apr. 5, 2022 / PRZen / AUSTIN, Texas — Meli’s Monster Cookies, a leading gluten-free, flour-free cookie company, announces their expansion into Costco, the fifth largest retailer in the world. Beginning April 1, 2022, consumers can find Meli’s Original Monster Cookies in a 3 pack in 41 Costco stores in Texas and 59 Costco stores in Los Angeles. The hugely popular cookie mixes will be located on the baking aisle, near pancake and brownie mixes.

Meli’s Monster Cookies was founded in 2013 after two lifelong friends “accidentally” discovered an old family recipe passed down through generations was naturally gluten-free and could fill a void in the commercially-available snack market. “Gluten-free wasn’t even on the horizon when the Meli’s Monster Cookie recipe was created,” says Melissa Blue, co-founder of Meli’s Monster Cookies. “After a close family member was diagnosed with gluten intolerance, we understood how difficult it was to find gluten-free cookies that tasted great and weren’t full of fillers and flours that made the cookie dry and left a bad aftertaste. As mothers often do, we found a solution, packaging this family-favorite, ‘happened-to-be-gluten-free’ cookie recipe everyone can enjoy.”

Meli’s Monster Cookies are unlike most gluten-free cookies in that they are completely flourless and contain only a few simple ingredients consumers can feel good about eating. The gluten-free industry is booming, estimated to grow from $5.72 billion in 2021 to $9.99 billion in 2028 with a CAGR of 8.29% during the forecast period. The Food and Drug Administration reports there are more than 3 million people in the U.S. with celiac disease and millions more with gluten sensitivity, driving people to seek gluten-free products, many of which cannot compare with gluten counterparts in terms of consistency and flavor. Meli’s Monster Cookies changes that, delivering delicious, gluten-free cookies people love.

Meli’s Monster Cookies has expanded nationwide in 7,000 stores and counting. Its arrival to Costco is the company’s newest retailer. Besides Costco, the cookies can be found in Target, Walmart, Kroger, Whole Foods, HEB, Central Market, Jewel Osco, HyVee, and Amazon. They can also be purchased on Meli’s webiste, www.meliscookies.com.

“We are so excited to partner with Costco to bring an innovative, flour-free cookie option that meets Costco’s guests’ dietary needs yet still has all of the taste and flavor of a fantastic cookie,” says Melissa Mehall, co-founder of Meli’s Monster Cookies. “Meli’s are better-for-you, USA-made cookies, founded by a certified women-owned company. We have worked hard to make our cookies readily available so everyone can experience a delicious treat, whether they have to avoid gluten or not.”

While Costco will be selling Meli’s Original Monster Cookie Mixes in 3 bag packages, Meli’s also sells a variety of cookie mixes, ready-to-eat frozen cookies, and shelf-stable mini cookies in other retail stores and online. All recipes have the same two first ingredients: gluten-free rolled oats and nut butter, for a naturally gluten-free, high fiber, high protein cookie.
