Australian-born singer and songwriter, Katy Tunbridge is thrilled to announce the release of her new single dubbed “Baby Love.” The new track is a mix of rock and reggae and proves that Katy Tunbridge is not only multi-talented on the books but can prove her talent whenever she gets the opportunity. Baby Love was released August 18 and will give fans something to vibe to as Katy has more projects and singles coming up before the year ends.
On Baby Love, Katy Tunbridge combines an exceptional crop of talented individuals in Willie Brown Jr. playing the electric guitar and Robert “Peewee” Hill who played the bass guitar. Willie Brown Jr has played for recognized music artists in the United States such as Alicia Keys, Patti LaBelle, and Janelle Monáe while Peewee has played with the likes of Billy Preston, Thelma Houston, Sly Stone to mention a few. The synergy between Katy Tunbridge, Willie Brown Jr, and Robert “Peewee” Hill is undeniable, and it makes “Baby Love” a different reggae single from the regular sounds that music lovers get.
“Baby Love is OUT NOW,” said an enthused Katy Tunbridge. “I cannot thank Willie and Peewee enough for their immense contributions to this album. This single is unlike any other that has been released before, and all of our fans will be thrilled with the quality of this new song. We spent weeks ensuring that Baby Love is a masterpiece and music lovers can attest to the quality in the single. Other projects are in the works, and this is only a tip of the iceberg.”
Baby Love is an incredible track, and it’s easy to see why it would be a fan favorite. The track is a perfect example of how two music genres can be combined to create something that is greater than the sum of its parts. The song shows how music can be more than just a vehicle for personal expression but something people can relate to, offering the soothing relief listeners expect from music.
In May 2021, Katy took a step of faith and moved to Los Angeles in the middle of a pandemic in pursuit of her music and acting career. Living in an RV, she was excited and hopeful for what was next but after just a few short months of relocating, Katy sustained an injury that would pause her whole life and prevent her from singing or playing guitar. She sustained injuries to the left side of her body including her spine, ribs and neck.
Although her injury limited her ability to sing and play guitar, she could still write and create. Her determination, fighting spirit, and the support of her mother kept her going. Her next song on the release radar is “Life’s Not Fair,” which was written in her humble RV when she was at the lowest of lows. After Life’s Not Fair, Katy will also release two more songs before the end of the year.
