ALPHARETTA, GA, May 13, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Atlanta Divorce Law Group is pleased to announce that John Sumner, retired Superior Court Judge, is joining our law firm as a Senior Attorney. John Sumner has a rigorous academic background and over 35 years of valuable experience from both sides of the bench due to his 20 years of experience as a judge and 15 years as a trial attorney.
After graduating third in his class, Mr. Sumner began his legal career by joining a Public Defender Office where he began trying cases immediately. From there, he continued on to become a judge, where he was appointed by Governor Deal, with three different statewide committees and the past president of the Council of Juvenile Court Judges. During this time, he was active in leadership, judicial council, and involved in legislation.
After 20 years of being a judge, Mr. Sumner decided to step back into practicing law for his passion of aiding others during a difficult time in their lives. He prides himself on honesty and hard work to best serve his clients, providing hope for moving forward in their future. Judge Sumner envisions using his decades of experience and passion for family law to support the Atlanta Divorce Law Group mission of Happily Ever After Divorce™, which means advocating for the clients’ future to be a life without regret, even decades after their legal case is completed.
