Woman lives on trains because she’s sick of paying rent

Müller, who is a college student from Germany, said that she gave up her apartment in the spring. She said she had a dispute with her landlord and she decided she was going to move out. Müller also decided that she actually didn’t want to live anywhere anymore.

The 23-year-old carries around her entire wardrobe with her, as well as her laptop, wash bag and her textbooks. When she needs to wash up, she uses the train’s bathroom. As for how she affords to ride trains, she buys a monthly season ticket that allows her to travel on any train in the country. The season ticket costs her around $380 per month.

Müller said she feels at home on the trains and she can visit many more friends, as well as cities. She added that it’s kind of like being on vacation all the time.

As for sleeping, Müller said it can be a problem, but she does manage the odd nap because she’s concerned about her backpack. She added that headphones are a must.

The woman plans to live on trains until she is finished studying, which will be next year.
