Raymond Munns Wins MTV’s ‘Wanna Be a VJ 3’ Search

Music Television announced today that Raymond Munns is the winner of
“Wanna Be A VJ 3,” the channel’s third annual nation-wide VJ search.
Twenty-year-old
Munns was chosen out of more than 3000 people who auditioned in San
Francisco, CA, St. Louis, MO, and Spencer, NC during April 10-14. As
the winner of “Wanna Be A VJ 3,” Munns wins the opportunity to VJ for
MTV this summer for an undetermined period of time, $25000 cash and a
Kia car.

MTV staff saw 1000 potential VJs on April 10 in San Francisco, 1000
people in St. Louis on April 12 and 1000 VJ Wannabes in Spencer, NC on
April 14. The six finalists selected during those auditions (two from
each location) were flown to MTV’s Time Square Studios in New York City
to compete for the VJ crown during three hours of live programming on
April 29. Viewers voted for their favourites throughout the show via
phone and MTV Online. Nearly 100 000 viewers voted via phone and MTV
Online.
