Marriott Rewards® Adds Perks

Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) announces the addition of new
elite levels of membership, offering its most frequent travellers
exclusive benefits and perks at 1800 participating Marriott hotels
worldwide. Starting June 1, 2000, program members will earn equal credit
toward special elite membership status for each night spent at any
participating hotel and receive benefits that range from reservation
guarantees and bonus points to upgrades and welcome refreshments. Elite
status is earned after spending as few as 15 nights within a calendar
year at any of these nine Marriott lodging brands:

Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites
Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites
Courtyard by Marriott
Fairfield Inn by Marriott
SpringHill Suites by Marriott
Residence Inn by Marriott
TownePlace Suites by Marriott
Marriott Conference Centers
Marriott Vacation Club International

Stays through Marriott’s corporate housing provider, ExecuStay by
Marriott, also will contribute toward elite status.

“The addition of elite level benefits across all brands signals our
commitment to rewarding the millions of travellers who repeatedly make
Marriott – any Marriott – their first choice,” said J.W. Marriott, Jr.,
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Marriott International, Inc. “Now,
in addition to offering generous points or miles, our most frequent
guests can experience the added perks that make frequent travel more
enjoyable.”

Above and beyond the normal points and miles earned, frequent guests
earn one of three elite levels of status with stays from each January 1
through December 31 period:

Marriott Rewards Silver elite (15 nights): members can expect a 20
percent bonus on points earned at full-service hotels, an elite
reservation phone-line, priority late checkout, weekend discounts, a
reservation guarantee that includes alternative accommodations and
additional compensation should a room reserved using an elite membership
number ever be unavailable, and more.

Marriott Rewards Gold elite (50 nights): members receive an increased
25 percent bonus on points earned at full-service hotels, complimentary
room upgrades when available, access to the Concierge Lounge and free
continental breakfast where available, and exclusive offers for weekend
getaways and
dining.

Marriott Rewards Platinum elite (75 nights): members receive all of the
benefits of Silver and Gold members plus an increased 30 percent bonus
on points earned at full-service hotels, welcome refreshments on the
first night of each visit, and a guarantee that a room is always
available when booked up to 48 hours before check-in.

The multi-brand enhancement replaces the Club Marquis, Courtyard Club
and Fairfield INNsiders Club programs previously found only at Marriott
and Renaissance hotels, resorts and suites, Courtyard and Fairfield Inn,
respectively. Members of any or all of the discontinued programs will
automatically receive elite status and benefits at the same or higher
level than previously experienced.
